The horror genre has been and continues to be viewed as a lesser form of cinema. To counter this perception, the goal of this blog is to write about horror movies as art – about its stories, themes, and aesthetics. Each post isn’t a review about whether or not a particular movie is good or bad. Instead, it offers an analysis of the texts and subtexts of individual horror films. One more note about this site. These reviews are written with the expectation that the reader will have seen the movie or doesn’t mind talking about some of the events of the film. That being said–Spoiler Warning!

Clinton Bryant, the author of this blog, holds a M.A. in English from the University of Vermont specializing in Gothic literature and the short fiction of Edgar Allen Poe. He is the winner of the Tupper Fellowship for the Outstanding Graduate Student and the Albee Award for Excellence in Composition. He has a forthcoming book chapter  “How I Met Your Mother: ‘Last Forever’” in Finale: Considering the Ends of Television Series (Syracuse UP, in press). In addition, he has published creative fiction in online magazines including Red Fez and Pomona Valley Review.
